RETURN OF SIR JAMES MILLS. PROSPECTS OP CANADIAN TRADE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) * WELLINGTON, Last Night. Sir James Mills returned by*the Aorangi ta-day. lie said the Canadian Government was most anxious that New Zealand should be included >n the Vancouver service, and hop.ed that Australia would agree to omit Brisbane in favour of Auckland's inclusion. He pointed out that New Zealand had a reciprocal with Canada. The latter would placa Australia on the same footing if applied to, and would give the same preference to similar products as given to New Zealand. The future arrangements, so soon as the contract for the Vancouver service were settled, were to withdraw "".he Zealandia ar.d substitute a larger and faster steamer than the Makuri, the Zealandia entering into the intercolonial trade. The Huddart Parker Company will be associated with the Union Company in the new venture. The Maitai will be withdrawn from the 'Frisco service for a newer and larger vessel, which, with the Aorangi, will burn oil fuel. air James MIII 3 hopes that New Zealand will bs able, at a future date, to supply oil fuel in the Union Company's fleet. The Company was] watching closely all developments in interna] combustion engines for steam boats, also oil cum reciprocating He is much impressed with the trade possibilities of the 'Frisco service, after close enquiry on the spot, and, intercourse with leading commercial men in the States of Western Canada, so far'as the Vancouver trade was concerned.^
