CURE OF CANCER.

KADIUM FOK hALMERSTON HOSPITAL. . (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMEKSTON N., Last Night. The Hospital and Charitable Aid Board to-day resolved to promote a movement to raise a fund of £3OOO for procuring Radium for the cure of cancer and skin diseases. The proposal was brought forward by Dr, Martin who spoke of the excellent results achieved by radium, and said that lie and Drs Peach and Putnam were willing to carry out treatment free of charge, the results being reported to the Board. If £3OOO were subscribed this sum would be increased to £6OOO by a Government subsidy. Tim would purchase a considerable bulk of radium. It had further decided to approach the "Hospital Day" Committee, and ask that this year's "Hospital Day" collection be devoted to the movement.
