SPECIFIC FOR BLIGHT.
A FRUITGROWER'S ADVICE. Mr William G. Gould, Secretary of the Eawke's Bay Fruitgrowers" Association, writes as follows to the Hawke's Bay ljerald:—-"A letter appeared in your columns recently advocating the use of Soklis as a specific for blight of all kinds, and stating that it had the endorsement of '.he Director of Orchard?, Mr T. W. Kirk. I have a letter from this gentleman which states thai be has no knowledge of this article as a blight specific, and in fact the wholesale agentP, Messrs Sliarland and Co., o<: Wellington, do not claim that it lias any insecticidal value, but can only sell it as a disinfectant. As secretary of - my association I would advise all orchardists before using any remedies to see that they have been thoroughly tested by the Agricultural Department and the Fruitgrowers' Association."
