DISTRICT NEWS.
[From Our Own Correspondents.)-
KAIPARORO. The weather during the past week has heen just perfect, and conse- I quently good progress is being made with shearing. Mr R. Renali has just completed a new and up-to-date shearing shed, in which machines have been installed. Ihe advent of the shearing season owing to the constant driving to and fro of sheep to the sheds, has had a bad" effect on the roads, and they are now uninviting to cylists or motorists. A good shower of rain will, however, soon restore them to their previous good condition. Mr and Mrs barker's many friends will be pleased to hear that their little daughter Lila is sufficiently recovered to be able to leave the hoa- ! pita!, where she has been for several weeks. ; A number of residents from here proceeded to Hastwell on Friday night, to attend a benefit concert tendered to Mr E. Larsen. Mr Larseti is well and favourably known throughout this district, and much sympathy is felt for him ovei his recent misfortune. In connection with the other Buah residents we are anxiously awaiting Mr Millar s promised improvements in the Wairarajpa and Bush railway time-table. I notice that two slight changes came into force on December Ist, but they are hardly likely to fulfil 'the expectations of or to satisfy the long suffe ing people of the district north of Master ton:.
