SHEARERS' DISPUTE.

•: GISBORNE, Last Night. The Conciliation Council, sitting under the, Presidency of Mr Harle Giles, Conciliation Commissioner, to consider - the demands of the Shearers' Union, has arrived'at a partial settlement of the dispute. Thirteen clauses were unanimously deleted from claims, whilst fifteen other clauses stipulating conditions governing'shearing v were agreed to and will be sent forward to the. Arbitration Court, as recommendations for inclusion in the award. Of the remaining seventeen clauses, the demands include rate of pay and hours of work, which are still in dispute, and will come before the court for settlement.
