He clid not know that the matter was one of which the Hoard should take notice, tut as the schools concerned were under.the jurisdiction of the Board he thought it right that the slight ottered His Excellency the Governor should be explained. Mr J. G. W. Aitken stated that 1000 children and their parents had visited Wellington, and of these not more than iifty had assembled to hear an address by His Excellency, which had Le n arranged for. He thought an intuit had been offered the I rown, for which the Board ihould offer an apology. Mr A. H. Vile stated that, as a matter of fact, only. 730 took part in the excursion. It was to le regretted that there had been some fault in the arrangements, but the Board was in no way responsible. After some further discussion, it was decided that a letter be addressed to His excellency the Governor, expressing regret that any apparent discourtesy should have been shown him in connection with the affair.
