DEPUTATIONS RUSH THE HOUSE.

NUMEROUS ARRESTo MADE.

Received November 19, 9.10 a.m. LONDON, November 18. Mr Asquith, in a letter to the Earl of Lytton, stated:—"l cannot give an assurance that woman's suffrage will be proceeded with next year." Successive deputations of women persistently endeavoured to rush St. Stephen's entrance, but the police prevented them doing so. Eighty-three arrests were made. The Earl of Crewe made a statement similar to that made by Mr Asquith.

MRS PANKHURST TO THE FRONT. LADY STOUT AMONG THE DEPUTATIONISIS. SHE DESCRIBES THE POLICEMEN. Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock. LONDON, November 19. Mrs Pankhurst, Misn Bertha Ayrton, Mrs Cobden Sanderson. Dr. Elizabeth Garrett : Anderson, and Princess Dhuleep Singh headed the first deputation. The arrests include Miss Ellen Gibb, a descendant of William Skirving, who was deported to Botany Bay in 1793 for advocating women's suffrage, and Mrs Morrison, daughter of Sir Terence Murray. The demonstrations "will be continued until t he dissolution. Lady Stout, who accompanied one of the deputations, stated that' the policemen were the roughest and most bloated-looking people she had ever seen. Lady Solomon, aged e : ghty, was knocked down. The authorities will neither prosecute nov discharge the policemen.
