THE SYDNEY SENSATION.
YOUNG WOMAN'S DISAPPEARANCE, Referring to the strange disappearance of the daughter of a wealthy citizen of Sydney, the Daily Telegraph of November 3rd says:— Miss Bessie Gibson, the daughter of a. well-known Mosman family, has disappeared' from a boarding establishment in Manly, where she has been staying. The missing young lady ,togetbor with her mother and .sister, went to Manly an Monday last to stay for some little time It was thought that the change would benefit Miss Bessie, who has been under medical care, suffering from nervosu depression At about 10 o'clock on Tuesday tlie two sisters went for a walk. They proceeded as far as Queenscliff'e Headland, and there Miss Bessie told her sister that she would much rather be by herself. She said she did not wish to befollowed about. The sister, well knowing Miss Bessie's peculiar state of health, agreed, and returned to the boarding-house. That was the last seen of the young lady so far as her relatives know.
The other Miss Gibson fancies that she saw her sister walking along near the sea after they separated. She appeared to be approaching the Corso. Since then a search lias boon made all through Manly. The local police, with the assistance of the missing girl's friends, have gone over the most likely spots in the village, but without success. The police do not think that Miss Gibson could have fallen into the water, for the tide was coming in at the time, and her body surely would have been discovered. The mising young woman is years of age. She Las a fair com-
plosion, and is tall and slight, when she came out on Tuesday she was wearing a, black skirt with a 'white blouse, and a white mushroom hat, with a white gossamer veil. She was carrying a red-covered novel, by Antony Hope ,at the time.
Miss Gibson's relatives do not think that she came to Sydney, as has boon suggested. Up to a late hour last night no trace of the missing woman, had been found.
