MASTERTON TRUST LANDS TRUST.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the terton Trust Lands Trustees was held last evening, there being present —■■ Messrs T. Wagg, chairman, R. Kra« hagen, W. H. Jackson, H. C. Kob\ inson, 0. Pragnell, E. G. Eton, C. E: Daniel). a letter was read from the Department of Justice, acknowledging receipt of £IOO, and suggesting that the transfer as between the frust and the Department be prepared by the Trustees.-—The Secretary stated that the transfer was now being prepared by the Trust solicitor. The Police Department also wrote, stating that it would be necessary, for the present, to fence off the lockup and the office at the back of the Sergeant's late residence.—On the motion of £Mr Jack«on, seconded by Mr Eton, it was decided that authority be given the Department to fence off the lock-up and watchhouse. -It was also decided, on the suggestion of Mr Pragnell, to ask the Department for permission to retain the use of the Trust office so long as the Department use 3 the watch-house. It was further resolved to ask for access to the right-of-way from Chapel street.

'I he Valuer-General notified that no increase had been made in the valuation of brick buildings erected by the Trust.—The Secretary said he had pointed out to the local valuer that a mistake had been made, and he had agreed to adjust it.—The matter was left in the hands of the Chairman and Secretary. The Chairman, with Messrs Robinson, and I'ragneli, were deputed to deal with the leases to the Wellington Farmers' Meat Company and others.

The Secretary of the Wellington Farmers' Meat Company wrote, stating that his Directors were prepared to complete the lease of the Trust office conditionally on certain repairs being effected.—The matter was left in the hands of the Building Committee, On the motion of Mr H. C. Robinson, it was resolved that the lease arranged with Mr J. C. Ewington, under the Public Bodies Leases Act, 1908, be for a period of twenty-one years, with a perpetual renewal at a revaluation every eleven years thereafter, without competition. Mr R. Krahagen moved in accordance with notice given, that the meetings of the Trust he held in future at 7.30 instead of 8 p.m. —Mr Daniell seconded. Mr Pragnell moved, as an amendment, that the meetings commence at 8 p.m. in the summer months and at 7.30 p.m. in the winter.—After some discussion, the motion of ;Mr Krahagen was withdrawn, and the amendment of Mr Pragnell, being made the motion, was carried,

The Treasurer reported a credit balance in the Bank of £152 19s 2d.

Accounts amounting to £l3 3a l(Jd were passed for payment.
