LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT.
A NATIVE'S WOOING
The recent .sitting of the Nativo Land Court at Nelson was responsible for at least one wedding;. Pone Piripi Rangiuhia (Phillips) of the King Country, and Hemi Wirihana (Wilson) of Keneperu Heads, were amongst those who attended the Court sittings, and with them it was a case of love at first sight. On Thursday morning, reports the Nelson Mail, the young couple arranged a wedding, and 011 Thursday afternoon the marriage was recorded by the Registrar. There was a little trouble over "the question of whether it should be a Maori or European wedding, but it was eventually agreed that the wedding should be in the pakeha form. The bride was attended by a number of bridesmaids, the chief being Ivawa Hiparaiti, of Okiwi. The best man was Tani Honetana (Johnson) cousin of the bride. After the ceremony thti natives assempled in force at the Central Hotel, where a feast was served, finishing up witli a jolly evening. The happy couple drove to Richmond, after leaving the Registrar's office, and the honeymoon will be continued at the Croixclles and other places.
