MANGATAINOKA ATHLETIC SOCIETY.
ANNUAL MEETING.
The annual sports meeting of the Mangatinoka Athletic Society is a most deservedly popular fixture, and it is looked forward to with keen interest throughout the Wairarapa and Fnrty-Mile Bush districts. The meeting is to be held on the Domain, Mangatainoka, on Monday, Boxing Day, December 26th, and the programme is published in this morning's issue of the Wiararapa Age. Literal prze money is offered, which should result in record entries being received. There are no less than twelve running events, amongst which is the Mangatainoka Handicap of 150 yards, Ist prize £6, 2nd prize £3, and 3rd prize £l. The field events include the Quoits Match Handicap, High Jump Handicap, Wrestling, light weight Cumberland, Throwing Hammer, Hop, Step and Jump and Putting the Stone. There are seven Piping and Dancing Competitions, entries for which will be receiver! on the grounds'. Nominations, particulars, of which are advertised,' close with the secretary, Mr J. A. Walsh, at Pahiatua, on Monday, December sth, at 8 p.m.
