AUCKLAND BILLIARD SALOONS.

AUCKLAND, Last Night. A meeting of billiard-saloon keepers decided to raise funds to appeal against the decision of Mr Cutten, S.M., that saloons where "pool" is played for small stakes arc common gaming houses. Their solicitor telegraphed to Dr Findlay, suggesting that instructions bo given the police to permit matters to go on as before, pending the appeal. Dr Findlay replied that he did not care to interfere with the police proceedings, but had communicated with the Commissioner of Police that the suggestion seems a reasonable one, if the appeal is prosecuted with due diligence.
