THE LEG-IRONING- INCIDENT. !

Speaking of the leg-ironing incident oil his release irom jrncl at Goulburn, Mr Peter Bowling, tho miners' president, said ho stood commiserating with the others who were manacled. That was their instructions. He asked to see the governor, but cno of the officials remarked that it would be more than the governor's position was worth to alter it. Mr Bowling said he would not go in for politics. He had quite enough to do in the bstterment of the industrial class.
