RAINFALL FOR OCTOBER.

Mr J. C. Boddington, of the Upper Plain, reports:—Rain fell on 14 days in October; maximum fall in 24 hours, 45 points, registered on the 28th; minimum, 1 point on the 26th; total for month, 2.08 inches, as against 9.34, 7.22, 1.11, 3.95, 3.63, and 3.54 inches in 1901, 1905, 1906, 1907, 1908 and 1909; the average for October being 4.80 inches. The total for the past ten months is 34.30 inches, the average for the corresponding period during the last six years being 38.96 inches.
