STRATFORD A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
FIKST ANNUAL SHOW. The first annual Show of the Stratford A. and P. Association is to be held at Stratford on. Wednesday and Thursday, December 7th and Bth. Stratford is an important centre of Taranaki, surrounded by a large area of pastoral and agricultural country, and the holding of an annual show will tend to bring its resources more prominently before the outside public. A perusal of the Schedule discloses the fact that the membership of the Association is already very strong, and the donations to the special prize list is conclusive evidence that the institution is meeting with very generous support. A feature of the show will undoubtedly be the dairying section. The competitions under this head are numerous, and the prizes substantial. The vvairarapa and Forty-Mile Bush butter and cheese makers will probably be induced to try conclusions with Taranaki at this show. Sheep and cattle breeders will also find a fresh field for exploitation in this part of Taranaki. The Schedule in both of these classes is well arranged and the prize money fairly tempting. In horses, too, there is an attractive prize list, whilst the leaping and jumping competitions are unusually strong. The Schedule also includes pigs, dogs, poultry, home industries, etc., and even cats are not forgotten. Altogether the programme' drawn up for the initial show of the Association is comprehensive and well arranged, and Stratford should speedily attain a prominent position among the show fixtures of the Dominion. Schedules for the show may be obtained on application at| e office of the Wairarapa Age.
