The Rev. Father Molloy, of_Toumarunwi, fell from his horse recently and sustained a fracture of the leg.

Mr Edward Jennings, aged 76, curator of the Dunedin Museum, died suddenly in a railway carriage yesterdav morning, at Dunedin. • He had run for a train, and the exertion apparently brought on heart failure. Deceased had a long career as a taxidermist, and had served under Captain Hutton, Professor Parker, and Professor Benham.

The Hon. Arthur Griffith, Minister for Works in the MeGowen Cabinet in New South Wales, is a nephew of the late Sir Hercules Robinsou, at one time Governor of New Zealand, and was more than once the guest of his uncle at (Government House in Wellington.

Mr R. W. Richards, Town Clerk, and Mr E. 'Stark, City Electrical Engineer, of Dunedin, have resigned. It Ts understood the former has received an important appointment in Sydnev, beginning in March, and that Mr Stark takes office under the water-power scheme-of the Government.

His Lordship Bishop Walks, in the course of an address in All Saints Church, Palmerston North, on Sunday, said:-The Rev. H. Watson, of Masterton, who had accepted the cure a month ago, had told him on Saturday that he wished to remain in Masterton,: and desired to resign his previous acceptance of the appointment. In coming to this decision the Rev. Watson forsook much emolument and comfort, and he had only taken the step after the most serious consideration and communion with God and because he believed it -to be God's will that he should remain in Masterton. His Lordship said that he praved for God's Guidance in the choice of a successor, and that he would postpone a decision till to-dav. (Tuesday). He asked for the prayers of the congregation in the matter.
