The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report having held their annual spring cattle fair in the Mangahao yards on Thursday, when they offered a fair yarding of cattlt., comprising all sorts of good useful sorts. Entries were, however, not up to advertised numbers, no doubt owing to shearing operations, Carterton Show, Palmerston North stock sale and other attractions, we have nevertheless to report a practical clearance, with the exception of two pens at late market rates, prices being as fol-lows--Bullocks, £5 16s to £6 10s; 3-year steers, £4 7s 6d, £4 10s to £5 10s; 2-year steers, £3 12s 6d to £4: yearling to 18-month steer?, 50s to62sGd; store cows, £3 Us; cows and calve?, £3 Is; forward store cows, £4 12s; springing heifers, £3 10s; yearlings, £1 lis to £2 13s; 2-year empty heifer', to £3 9s.
