The election for the South Shields seat in the House of Commons, the vacancy being caused by the elevation to the High Court Bench of Sir VV. y„ Robson, Attorney-General resulted in the return of the Liberal candidate, the voting being:— The Right Hon. Russell Rea (Liberal) 7929 Mr R. Vaughan-Wilhams (Unionist) 4910
