MASTERTON OPERATIC SOCIETY.
IjES CLOCHES DE UORNEVILLE.
Following on the success which attended the production of the "Pirates of Penzance," the Masterton UperaticSociety announce that they will 'Les Cloches de Corneville' on November 30th and December Ist, in the Town Hall, Masterton. This comic opera, which is being revived at present in the Old Country, is brimful of bright and sparklingmusic. For the past six weeks the members of the Society have been practising assiduously and parons.may, rest assured that no effort will be spared by those taking part to eclipse 'all previous performances. The scenery, which consists of five complete changes, is being painted locally by Mr J. Chilton, the wellknown artist, who has been specially engaged. Since the production of the "Pirates" the Society has been considerably strengthened by the inclusion of a number of well-known singers, and the cast of principals has been very happily arranged, amongst them being Misses Jago, Cameron, Tait, Joy, Mesdames Frances, A. Daniel], and Messrs W. Jago, F. H. Elcoate, Harry Hal], and W. Iggul den. All the dressings and mountings of the Opera are being made locally. The band parts for the piece have been procured from Auckland, and leading musicians in Masterton have promised to assist. Mr. George Gray, the Director, is confident that the Society will produce a musical treat.
