TRADE UNIONISM.
SPEECH BY MR. RAMSAY MACDONALD. (Rec. Last Night, 11.30 o'clock.) LONDON, October 20. Mr. A. J. Simon, M.P., replying to a deputation of trade unionists at Walthamstow, refused to commit the Cabinet as to definite methods of dealing with the Osborne case. He was not prepared to say if the payment of members was necessary for a complete remedy. Mr. Ramsay Macdonald said that the trade unions were not going to allow tho essential principles of trade unionism to interfere with the present protection of minorities. The latter simply want the power to spend the money. He hoped the party would be sufficiently strong to know the Government's intentions a few minutes after the opening of the session.
