To-Day's Weather. NEW'ZEALAKD'FQRECAST. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. Tlie Rev. I). C. Bates's summary and forecast are as follows: A westerly storm of small aita, but of considerable intensity lias passed southward of New Plymouth and Napier, with high westerly winds, especially in Cook and Foveaux Straits. Heavy rain fell in the southernmost districts during the night, and it has rained also on the West Coast of the South Island, but fine weather has continued in most parts of the country, .though with increasing cloudiness. Present indications are for strong westerly winds generally. The barometer will probably rise for a short time in the south, but fall elsewhere. Expect unsettled and showery weather generally.
