SUEZ CANAL RATES.
SHIPOWNEKS DISCONTENTED." Received Last Night, Midnight. LONDON. October 18. The Morning Post states that the shipowners are discontented at the Suez Canal rates being reduced to only 7| francs. They demand a reduction to 5 francs per ton, which M. De Lesseps promised when the dividend was over 25 per cent. It is reported that the Board of Trade favours a proposal that British influence should be used to secure a substantial decrease.
