HE WAS NOT SCARED.
(To tho Editor.)
Sir,. I was interested to read ifiJ Monday's, paper a statement to theeffect that the angler concerned in. the pea-rifle incident on the Waipoua was "considerably scared." To this statement I must beg to give an emphatic denial. As a matter of factmy first feeling was one of indignation, quickly followed by a burning : desire to inflict summary punishment! with a landing-net handle on the idiotic culprits who, however, beat ai hasty retreat at my approach. It is decidedly time that eome action was-' taken to prevent a repetition of ti,e incident. From all sides complaints are being made about the indiscriminate use of firearms by irresponsible persons.—l am, etc., THE ANGLER IN QUESTION.
