Newton were charged with committinf a jewellery robbery at Lloyd s jewellery establishment on September i? 3. A good deal of evidence was taken, and Prior pleaded guilty, Jack and jSowton pleaded not guilty. Pnoi was ordered to come up for■ -sentence at the Supreme Court at Greymouth on November 12, and Jack and Newfc ton were committed for trial at tnc Hfer same Court.
