HIDES SALES. o Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Abraham and Williams, Ltd., New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows regarding Friday's sales:— Wool'.—What little there was sold at full rates. Quotations: Crossbred, 6jd to Bi-d; lambs wool, 6Jd to Sd; pieces and bellies, 4d to s^d; locks, 2*d to 4£d; dead wool, 6Jd to 8-J-d; crutchings, 4d to 6^d. Skins.—Dry skins were firm at last sales' prices, but green and salted were in poor demand, declined at least 6d per skin. Quotations: Fine crossbred, 8d to Bjd; medium crossbreds, 7d to Bjd; coarse crossbreds, 6d to "3d;-dead hoggets, 5d to 6'fjd; lambskins, 5-kl to 7d; quarter to half wools, to &/d ; dry pelts, 2id to ohd; green skins, 5s 8d to 8s 9d; spring lambs, lid to Is 2d. Tallaw.—Showed a further rise. Parcels in shipping order, £29 ss; tins £25 to £27 15s: rough fat, £ls to £2O. Horsehair.—ls to Is Sd per lb. Horns.—ss to 19s per hundred. Cowtails.—ls 5d per dozen. Hides.—Ox hides sold at recent prices; cows and kips sold at an advance of a farthing per lb. Calfskins were firm at last sales' prices. Quotations: Ox hides, (heavy), 6r}d to 7d, (medium), 6Jd to Cgd, (light), sjfd to 6Jd; cow hides, to 6jd; cut and slippy, 3d to SJ-d; stag hides, 4d to'ojd; bull hides, 4d to 5Jd; yearlings, 5d to 6£d • calf, best 9d to 9;} d, medium, 7£d to Bsd, cut* and slippy, 4i-d to 6id. Our next sales will be held on Friday, October 21s£ 1910.
