NO-LICENSE IN MASTERTON.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —I notice in your issue of Saturday an effusion by a person signing himself "'Twenty Years' Resident" in reference to my letters re effect of no-license in Master-ton. If he is a no-license party, surely lie has the courage of his opinions. Let him, therefore sign his name, and endeavour to be a man, even if it is a difficult matter for him. —Yours truly, ; J. J. £ir,—Your paper of October sth, in whi>h°Mr J. J.. Kelliher again writes, to hand to-day. In reply, allow me to say that I refuse to be drawn into a controversy with the Liquor Party in Masterton. The effects of Norf.icense upon that town I have both witnessed and studied for myself in a quite unbiased manner. If the Liquor Party in Masterton dees not agree with my conclusions—and who expected fcr a moment that it would?—that is not my affaii'. And more especially, I utterly decline to discuss the matter with Mr Kelliher, the representative of that Party. When a man takes up the attitude he has taken, and adopts the manner of writing he has chosen, it were degrading to debate with him, and I decline to lower myself to the level your corresponndent has set. —I am, etc., CECIL J.
