JUMPING COMPETITIONS.

AT THE MASTERTON SHOW. The committee appointed by the Masterton A. and t\ Association to consider the desirability of increasing the amounts to by offered as prices for jumping events at the next show, recommended at the meeting of the association on Saturday that the prize money be increased by £77 over and abo/o that of last show, and that the. prizes be apportioned us follows :

Consolation : First prize, ,L"20; second prize, £o ; third prize, CO. The following further reco r.ic> :.i----tions were made:—That competitors in the Championship Jump be required to attend at 10" a.m. ,on the second day for the purpose, of jump-ing-twice' round the course without stopping, only selected horses to compete in the final in the afternoon ; that a quantity of oats and chaff be available on the ground for disposal on show days,.

The report of the committee was adopted, and it was decided that competitors in all jumping events must go twice round the course.
