RIMUTAKA DEVIATION.

Mr A. W. Hogg, M.P., is asking the Government >'i' the fact of His Excellency the Governor taking up his residence in the Wairarapa is not a reason why the Rimutaka railway should be deviated. Of course' it is. Did not the Government take over the Manawatu railway after the late Governor went to Palmerston North to reside ? Has not the railway station at Kaimangatautu, or somewhere else in the South Island, been painted since Lord Islington passed it recently in a railway car ? Has it not been arranged' for the "northerlies" to blow from the south since His Excellency has taken up his abode on the pinnacle of Mount View? Really, Mr Hogg is making out a .splendid case!
