AKAROA DISTRICT MAORI LAND BOARD.
SITTING IN MASTEKTON
- The Ikaroa Maori Land Board met in Masterton yesterday, the following members being present: —Mr J. B. Jack, President; Messrs IJ. Martin Smith and lhaia Hutana, members; and Mr L. A. Teutenberg, clerk. The following applications were dealt with: Akura 30 No. 1 A.— Transfer from Whaitiri Waimarama to Martin Kerins.—Approved. Okurupatu A No. 3 Sub. 2 of 2D. —Transfer from Himiona Haratiera to Grace Shaw.—Approved.
Whakataki No. 1C A.—Lease from Natives to George Harris. —Approved provisionally.
Tauanui No. 1. —Lease from Natives to Meronia R. Hume.--Pro-visionally approved. Te Iringa Block.—Transfer from Te Iwi Epanaia to John Cundy.™ Provisionally approved.
Gethsemane Block.—Leases of various sections to H. A. Evans and J, Green, respectively. Several of these applications were contested, Mr Gawith appearing for Mr Green and Mr R. Ward Tate for Mr Evans. A settlement was eventually arrived at, the Board agreeing to approve the following leases:—2a No. 2, 7a No. 1, 7a No. 2, to MrEvane; and 7a No. 3to Mr Green. Arete Mahupuku agreed on behalf of the Natives to the proposed settlement. Otawhao A No. 11. Transfer from Tangatahi Hapuku to T. Hobson—Approved.
Himana IB Subs. 1 and 2. Transfers from Taiawhio and Puhara Te Tau to J. 0. Strang.—Provisionally approved. Uhiroa Subs. 3 and s.—Proposed sale by Hariana Natamahira to Eliabeth Toogood. The Board approved of the contract at the price of £75, rescinding the resolution made on September 22nd, 1910.
