AMUSEMENTS.
GRAHAM'S ENGLISH COMEDY COMPANY. ZZlhe advent on Tuesday evening at the Town' Hall of Mr Fred Graham's London Comedy Company is a theatrical event which will cause a good deal of interest amongst Master ton playgoers. Both Mr Graham and Miss Nellie Dent have made themselves such deservedly great favourites here that their visit in the capacity of managers i 3 sure to be warmly received. The piece in which the new company make their debut here—" The Brixton Burglary"—is one which has achieved a large measure of success in England. It is a comedy of the purely farce type, having interpolated several catchy songs and bright dances. The company who will interpret the several parts is said to be a strong and effective one. Mr Graham, Miss Dent, and Mrs George Lauri are already well-known, and the other members of the company, especially Mr Kay Souper and Miss Gretton, have won golden opinions elsewhere, the two latter having formed part of the -celebrated Oscar Asche Company. The plans of reserved seats for the season, which is for two nights, will open at Miss Rive's tomorrow.
THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. The usual change of pictures will be presented at the Foresters' Hall to-night. The new series consists of a well assorted and carefully selected lot of films, "The Shyness of Shorty'* is a Wild West story, in which a horse thief play- an important part, and several incidents of a sensational character are enacted. "Percy, the Cowboy" is a lengthy dramatic subject from the "Lubin" factory, the makers of the film "None But the Brave," which was very much admired last weeu. Shakespearian students are to be catered fcr with a representation of "King Lear." Twu fine scenic pictures will be introduced, entitled "Venice" and "Elephants in India." "The Anger of Diana" »s a beautifully coloured picture dealing with a story of that mythological goddess. Several other first clas9 subjects are to be shown, including "His Chum," "Shepherd's Kiss," "A Well Earned Meal," "Betty, from Bad to Worse," "Two Cowards." and "Dr. Smith's Automatum."
