MONTHLY MEETING.
The monthly meeting of the Wairarapa Hospital «nd Charitable Aid Roard was held in Masterton yesterday, there being present Messrs H. E. Eton (Chairman), F. W. H. Kummer, W." J. Welch, W. Fisher, A. Murray, G. Bennett, J. D. Crewe, R. F. R. Beetham, S. Bolton, D. J. Cameron, W. Moore, T. Moss and J, (\ Ewirißton. Apologiei for absence wpre received from Meters Speedy, Cornelius and McLeod CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence was received: — From the Inspecfor-General cf Hospitals, asking that the Matron of the Hospital be permitted to act in connection with the ytate examination of nurses.—Granted. From the Secretary of the Wairau Board, disclaiming any liability in the case of relief granted to Frederick Mills and family. —The Secretary was instructed to apply for a refund from the Picton -Board.
From the Inspector-General of Hospitals in respect to the case of an incurable patient named Godfrey, at present in the South Wairarapa Hospital. -The Secretary reported that arrangements were complete to have ihe patient shifted to the Rev. Mother Mary Joseph Aubert's Home in Wellington. From the Charitable Aid office, Christchurch, asking the Board to
appoint a delegate to a projected» conference to be held in Wellington, I probably about the n-Hdle of Novera- I ber. -The Board sympathised with i the movement, ard will appoint a representative if tho Hospitals Department approve of the conference. From Messrs Pickering Bios., in reffirence to the installation of an Aercgan gas plant to light the Hospital.—The matter was referred to the Masterton Committee to report to the Board. From ths Inspector-General of Hospitals, notifying that Local Bodies were being circu larisad relative to the delegatory powers of the Board under the Public Health Act in terms of section 83 of the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909.—After considerable discussion the matter was refeired to the Finance Committee. COMMITTEES. Mr D. J. Cameron was appointed fo all committees aB the Mastert on County, representative, in place of Mr John Morris, who has resigned.
TREASURER'S REPuRT. The Treasurer reported a balance from September <7th of £3608 0s 7d, and receipts for the month amounting to £857 19a 7cl, making a l'i*al of £1484 Cs 2d. The expenditure for the month amounted to £llOl, leaving a credit at date of £3383 5s lid.
ACCOUNTS AND BY-LAWS. Accounts amounting to £533 9s 6d, indud/'ng £SOO progress payment in respect to tluGreytown Hospital contract, were passed. The by-laws, as revised by a subcommittea on the lines of the model by-laws submitted by Dr. Valintine, Inspector-General of Hospital?, were considered seriatim, and certain amendments made. They were eventually adopted, on the motion.of th-3 Chairman, and it wan decided that they be confirmed at a special meeting to be held next month.
