WELLINGTON LAND BOARD

; MONTHLY MEETING.

The Wellington Land Board met last week, Mr Jaa, Mackenzie, Commissioner of Crown Lands, presiding. Also present were Messrs J. Dawson, H, T. Ellingham, J. (Jecrgetti, and W. M'Lennan. The following titles were approved:—Section 43. Block VII, Aotea S.D., to J, Valentine and the executors of the late Mrs E.Taft; Section 31, Block IV.. Rangokokako S.D., to J. Farrow; Section 832, Block XIV., Mikiraiki S.D., to A. Deal.

Conversion to renewable lease was sanctioned in respect of bections 150 and 152, Black XJV, Makuri, V.S., held by G. Newman.

The undermentioned transfers were recommended for approval Sections 150, and 152, Makuri V.S., from C. Newman, to A. Parker. The following were declined:— Part 2 of Section 35, Block VII., Tararua S.D., from M. L. Narby to W. Holden; Part 1 of Section 35, Block VII, Tararua S.D., from M. L. Naiby to W. Holden. Mr A. C. Smith applied to transfer Section 8. Block 11, Tararua, 2uo acres, to Mr J. J. Welch. The Commi&sioner pointed out that Mr Welch was the holder of some 504 acres already, 400 of which had been leased with a compulsory purchasing clause, and it was resolved that if he will diveat himself of the 400 acres the application will be recommended for the Minister's approval. I Mr K Y. Campbell applied to: transfer Section 20, Block V, Mount Cerberus, 200 acres, to Mrs E. A. Ireland, licensee of Section 24, Block V, Mount Cerberus, 100 acres, and u was resolved to recommend on tha usual conditions.

Mr John Bowie applied to transfer Section 10, Block V, Mount Cerberus, 100 acres, to Mi JR. Bowie, the holder of about 268 acres, adjoining, and it was resolved torecommend it.

Mrs E. A. Ireland applied to transfer Section 24, Block V, Mount Cerberus, 100 acres, to Mr John Bowie, the holder of 440 acres adjoining, and it was resolved to recommend it. The Commissioner dissented. Mr F. W. Newman applied to transfer Section 24, Block 1, Makuri, 16 acres 3 roods 32 perches, to Mr F. J. Staples, lessee of Section 80, in the same block, 19 acres 1 rood 24 perches, making a total, if the transfer takes place, of 36 acEes 1 rood 16 perches. It was resolved to recommend it for approval. The Commissioner dissented on account of aggregation. .Mr N. J. Dayah applied to transfer Section 7b, Block XVI, Wairarapa, Dyer Settlement, 37 acres 10 perches, to Mr Henry Daysh. his father, and it was resolved to recommend the transfer for approval, the Commissioner oissented.

Mr F. L. Kerr, licensee of See* tions 6 and 5 Block X and I, Mikimiki, 371 acres 29 perches, applied to transier the same to Mr G. S. Matthew?, and it was resolved to recommend it. Miss H. M. Priest, lessee of Section 22, Block V, Mount Cerberus, 20 acres, applied to take her brother, G. W. Priest, the lessee of Section 21, Block V, adjoining, 250 acres, in a 8 a partner with her, and it was resolved to recommend it.
