LABOUR TROUBLES.
SOUTH WALES BALLOT,
Received September 29, 9.40 a.m.)
LONDON, September 28. | In connection with the South Wales mining trouble, further re- • suits of the ballot confirm the statement that narrow majorities in eleven of the larger collieries favour a levy in support of the Cambrian miners", while six support a general stoppage of work. However, fifty per cent, of the men abstained from voting. Meanwhile, the Ely dispute is likely to be settled at an early date. This would render a strike of the Cambrian -miners unnecessary. (Received September 29, 1 p.m.) LONDON, September 28. The South Wales miners, by a majority of 25,999 votes, decided in favour of a levy to support the Cambrian miners.
