Interviewed ', =by , a . Wellington "Post" reporter, Mr A. W. Hogg stated that, a campaign, of misrepresentation "was being waged against him in Masterton. Some '•■ of his friends had written 'to him, asking "Was it true that .he. was going to contest v an Auckland seat instead of Masterton at the next election, as a straight-out Labour man? Was it true? that the/Government was to run! a candidate against him at the next' election* 'in ease' lie' st'ddd ; foif Masterton?' 4 Mi- • Ho§g declare 4 that there .'was not truth in the various allegations] If he stood for any district itwould be Masterton, and he would noj stand as a straight-out Labourite, He sympathised with Labour, bui he recognised that all classes had to be considered when legislative reforms were introduced. He had heard nothing of , .any Government intention to put up, a. man-, against him. >'-.'<
