FUGS! A WRECKED VESSEL.
A ROUGH EXPERIENCE.
Received September 23, 1.30 p.m. HOB ART, September 23. The steamer Wauchope has arrived from King Island. She reports having picked up the missing boat's crew of the Carnarvon Bay. All are well. The boat crew state they landed on King Island three hours after the wreck.
Received Last Night, 9.30 o'clock HUBART, September 23.
After leaving the wreck, the Carnarvon 's boat had a slit? three hours' struggle against a rough sea. Eventually the crew landed on the tsouth-east of King's Island. They travelled through eight miles of scrub before they reached habitation, and were in an exhausted condition.
They were provided with food, clothing, and sleeping accommodation, and next day took up their quarters at the hotel, where they remained utiil the Wauchope took them off.
