A MISSING MAN.
INVENTOR OF AN AEftOPLANE. When the steamer Blenheim arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from Blenheim, Captain ;WatEdi reported to the shipping authorities that a passenger named Loveli Kollingshaw was missing. Mr Rollingshaw. and another passenger, Mr J. K. Harding "boarded the steamer about 11,30 shortly before she left Blenheim for Wellington. The two passengers remained on deck talking with Captain Watson for about three-quarters of an hour. They then went below, but returned shortly afterwards. As th e vessel was near-' ing the mouth\of the river the passengers said that as it was getting cold, they would retire, and they ; went below again. About 2 o'clock 'in the morning, Mr Rollingahaw was missed, 'and a search of the vessel failed tq find him. With the exception of an overcoat and a small bag, Rollingshaw had nu effects vtith him, and what he had were handed to the police. A telegram received fror£>Blenheim last night states:—''Loveli Rollingshaw, who disappeared off the steamer Blenheim last night, had recently been experimenting with an aeroplane of his, own construction, and intended, leaving for Paris shortly to study the subject further. The object of his visit tp Wellington was to bring bis married I sister and her child over :to Blenheim i to stay with him for a few days be-1 ! fore his departure. He had arranged i a farewell supper to a number of friends on his return to Blenheim. He was a man about 28 years of age and a well-known mechanical engineer."
