Sandstream is reported to-be very i big in condition, and it will take 'his trainer all his time to have the San Fran gelding ready to compete in the New Zealand Cup. •;■'■ Dearest, a full sister to Master Soult, opened her winning account by scoring in the Flying Handicap at the Rangitikei meeting. The filly is highly spoken of, and will be expected to'win a £fair amount of stake money this season. The acceptances for the Lower valley meeting aie very satisfactory, and fthe only race that has not filled well being the McFarlane Handicap, in which Full Rate 9st slb is considered very leniently treated. Good entries have been re--ceived for the Maiden Hack and Hack Scurry. In the first named event. Tribulation, a full brother to Provocation, Odessa, ,by Stepniak, and Lord Kilcheran, by Kilcheran, represent the best class.
