By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night.

Mr D. C. Bates' summary and forecast is as follows:—The barometer rose everywhere on Saturday night, with strong southerly winds and cold and showery weather. fcTcday has been fine, except in the Auckland district. Present indications are for easterly winds, strong to gale, with squally and showery weather northward of Eawhia and East Cape, and for freshening northeiiy I winds elsewhere. A change is probable after 18 hours, and increasing haze and cloudiness in the meantime in the south, the barometer falling fast everywhere soon.
