CHATSWORTh <3). (By Auric—Winifred). rru. l:„UI„ V.»a,i fl-in t awrnrth toHI

The highly bred Chat3\votth will be at the service of breeders thia season at his owner's place, Tauherenikau. On breeding lines the horse j ranks distinctly high, his pedigree including the moat successful strains of modern times. He is the first direct descendant of St. Simon and Stoekweil to be located in Wairarapa. His sire Auric is by St. Simon horse, Bill of Portland, sire of Bobadi, Merriwee, Malster, Quarry- i man and Finland (sire of Bobrikoff), from Aura, dam of Aurum, Aurous, Aurarai (Melbourne Cup winner), and Golden Slipper. Chatsworth's dam Winifred by Goldsborough. by Fireworks—Sy I ?ia, from Lady Hooten, by Stoekweil. He was bred by the well known and successful breeder, Mi James Redfearn, Tabilk, Victoria, in 1902, who refused one thousand guineas for him as a two year old, and sold Winifred for two thousand guineas. Chatsworth stands sixteen hands one inch in height, and has plenty of style, quality and size. In the show ring he scored three first prizes and three championships, so on th scare of appearance can well hold his own. A number of two olds by Chatsworth will be racing in Australia this season, while his yearlings in this district are highly spoken of. The fee of £5 5s is undoubtedly moderate for such a high class horse. Breeders requiring particulars may obtain cards from the owner Mr W. Nix, Tauherenikau, or J. Mr V. Reed, South Road. Masterton.
