WELLINGTON v. SOUTHLAND.
RECOKD SCORE.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night, | The football match, Wellington v. Southland was played in fine weather, and the visitors were com- , pletely outclassed and proved "good things" for the local crack backs, who practically had things all the r own way from the commencement of play. Wellington scored thirteen j points against the wind in tbe.first spell and forty-seven points in the second. The scorers for Wellington were Dawson (four). E. Roberta (four), Hills, Avery, Bruce, McKellar. F. Roberts, Kinvig, one each. E. Roberts, Dawson, Avery, and Kinvig converted tries, and McLeod potted a goal. The final scores were Wellington 60, Southland nil.
DAJMNEVIRKE v. BUSH DISTRICTS. WOODVILLE, Last Night. The football march played on Saturday between the Dannavirke SubUnio and the Bush districts Union resulted in favour of the former by 17 points to 6. The score was made up of five tries, one converted, to two tries.
MANAWATU v. WANGANUI
FEILDING, Last Night. The return match, Wanganui v. Manawatu, was played at Feilding on Saturday, and ended in favour of Manawatu by 9 points to 6. AUCKLAND v. TARANAKI. NORTHERNERS STILL RETAIN THE SHIELD. AUCKLAND, Last Night.
The third Ranfurly Shield match of the season was played here on Saturday, when the Auckland and Tnranaki Rugby representatives met inglorious weather, and before an attendance of about eight thousand spectators. The matcn was willing from the start, but was played in the best of spirit. Auckland's team was not so strong as that which played against Wellington, Cunningham and Morse, being ill, while Murray played throughout with a crippled leg. In the early stages the forward play was about equal, but towards the latter stages the Taranaki pack asserted itself and aided by good backs, had the best of the concluding portion of the game, which ended Auckland 16, Taranaki 9.
DALEFIELD v. LIBERALS. At Carterton on Saturday afternoon, the Dalefield juniorß defeated the Liberals by 14 points to 3. JUNIOR REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS.
