THE DRAINAGE LOAN.

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—A section of the Masterton community is striving to prejudice the drainage loan by drawing herrings across the scent. They are trying to make it appear that two , and two make a dozen, and that the | rates on a loan of £31,000 wil crush ' Queen Street out of existence. All this nonsense is being spoken by a few men who have the drainage at the expense of others, and who object to paying their quota towards securing the health of the town. Away with such meanness ! Masterton is a progressive town. Let us keep it progressive, and make it as a town healthy, and worth living in. —I am, etc.,
