NEW TELEGRAPH FORMS.

AN INNOVATION. A new departure is being made in the working of the Telegraph Department. From Saturday last, the Masterton office will issue telegrams without thir being enclosed in the familiar red envelope. The new , telegram form, by-a simple method of folding, exposes the name and address upon its face, while at the same time the contents are safe-

guarded by a triple fold and secured by a paper seal. The latter should be broken when opening of telegram is desired by its recipient. The doing away with the envelope likewise disposes of errors in addressing or placing telegram in wrong envelope. Greater speed in handling the telegram can be achieved by the telegraph officials, and greater secrecy as the result of less handling naturally follows. The Postal Department authorities have made many successful innovations in the working of the service to keep pace with the times, but few of them have been so intimately brought into contact with the general public as the neat, businesslike form which is now in our midst, and which is likely to prove so successful.
