TV, Government itself seems to have a fairly keen appreciation of the advantages of the freehold over the leasehold tenure. The Agricultural Department requires that persons desiring to have soil tested by the i Chief Chemist shall sign a form containing about thirty questions. One of these questions is, "Leasehold or Freehold ? If former, state term unexpired ?" The object of this question is transparent. The Department knows,. of course, that if the land is freehold the soil can be treated with advantage. If it is a leasehold with a short term to run it would be sheer waste of time to tender advice.
