PAHIATUA LICENSING BENCH.

QUARTERLY MEETING

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WOODVTLLE, Last Night.

At the quarterly meeting of the Pahiatua Licensing Commitee, held to-day, transfers were granted for tbe following hotels:—Kumeroa, F. J. Bright to Charles George Fleecher; Mangatainoka, Thomes Grace to Mrs Brewer; Makuri, P ter T. Pedersen to Robert Potts; Central (Woodville), E. J. Gothard to Harry Stace.

In the case of the Club Hotel, Woodville, tbe reports regarding the conduct of the licensee were not satisfactory, and tbe Committee insisted on a transfer being made within three months.-

In respect to the Herbertv'lle Hotel, which*has recently been rebuilt, but is not finished, §the licensee was given ten days in which to have the house ready for the convenience of the travelling public The Pahiatua Licensed Traders' Association asked the members of the Committee to personally inspect all licensed houses in the district once a year.—The Committee said it was quite agreeable, provided its expenses were paid.

* Only two witnesses were heard in the case of the permanent transfer of a license to Pacey, for the Wimbledon Hotel. -As the police had two witnesses short, the case was adjourned till the 22nd September.
