TE WHARAU.
Very bad weather has been experienced during the past few days, all the hills in the vicinity being covered with a fair coating of snow. J Farmers are anxious as the lambs which are now plentiful everywhere ate sure to suffer severely. The School Committee held ita monthly meeting last week, when the usual routine of business was transacted. The school closes for the term holidays on Friday next. Mr R. Vennell, who has now completed the building of the Excelsior Store will commence at once on Mrs Rummer's new residence at Kummerstein.
The Te Wharau Rifle Club expect to open the season with a shoot about the beginning of September. The Gladstone Football Club hold their annual Club bali on the 2nd inst. A good number of enthusiasts from thi3 district expect to be present.
Messrs Barrer and Douglas, County Councillors, went through on Saturday to attend the Council's monthly meeting.
P. York and family, who have been spending the winter in Napier returned home on Monday.
