INVERCARGILL SUPREME COURT.
tNVERCARGILL, Last Nigbt. At the Supreme Court to-day, Albert Edward McQueen was found guilty on three counts, arising out of a brutal assault on a single youtig woman in the park at Invercargill. on 2nd June, and sentenced to"seven years hard labour.
The Ccurt was occupied the whole day in the claim by George Marphall for £5Ol damages from J. H. Sarginson, for the seduction of plaintiff's daughter. Both partieß live at Lintley, near Lumsden, and the seduction is admitted, but the defendant held uo promise to marry, and that as the plaintiff is on bad terms with his daughter he has suffered no damage. The jury awarded £2OO.
