THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES.

At the Foiesterß' Hall to-night

Messrs Thompson and Payne will present number three of their special programmes. The previous films shown by this enterprising firm have always proved satisfactory, and patrons can rejy on this new series being well up to the highest mark'of perfection. The leading pictures of a "stat" collection to be shown to-night includes "The Rape iof the Sabines." This subject has been treated by poet and painter, and now we are to have it produced per cinematography. "Across the Plains" is a production by Seligs, a firm of film makers whose work has always proved popular. The American Biograph Company are represented by "A Rich Revenge," and as their work, shown earlier in the week, "As it is in Life," was so much admired, no doubt this latest production will be popular. Several other films of high merit are to be shown, including ''Capturing Bear Cubs," "The Sardine Industry," "The Sculptor," "A Russian Girl's Heroism," and the usual batch of comics.

TOWN HALL PICTURES. At the Town Hall Pictures to-nighi there will be a programme of unparalleled gems thrown on the screen The "star" dramatic film, "The Shepherd's Dog," by Pathe Freres, is a subject that will appeal to everyone who are fon dof thin noble animal. "The Victims of Fate," a true story baaed on a recent occurrence in the mountains of North Carolina* and "The Centurion's Daughter," an incident ia the life of Nero, are dramas of the highest order. The scenic films, "Rio de Janeiro." "A Funeral in Annam", coloured, and "Roosevelt at a [Military Review," are interesting as well as educational. "In Love with the Charcoal Woman," Persuasive Powers of a Revolver,"(and"Tomboline." (black and white) will amuse those who relish the comic element. "

The Beauty Competition, which (b as good as a second programme, will close on Saturday evening. The photographs of the winners will be shown upon the screen at the end of the entertainment.
