Received August 30, 10 a.m. BERLIN, August 29.
Refering to the Kaiser's remarkable speech at Konigaberg, East Piussia, a speech which has aroused ' much concern in Germany and caused a flutter throughout Europe, the Socialist newspaper Vorwaert3 dem inds that the Reichstag should be summoned, as it is the imperative duty of the people's representatives to pick up the gauntlet and indicate tha constitutional limits of the Crown.
ANOTHER SPEECH.
Received Last Night, 10.50 p.m BERLIN, August 30.
The newspaper Nord Deutsche Zeitung protests against the misinterpretation of the Kaiser's Konigsberg speech, and denies that it contained i an Absolutist declaration. The Kaiser, reviewed the manoeuvres of a squadron of twenty-one battleships at Danzig Bay. fapeakwg later at Marienberg, he declared that the co-operation of commerce, shipbuilding, and agriculture in constituting the strength and greatness of ihe Fatherland had been made possible only by the maintenance of peace won under the Great Emperor in 1870. Marienberg and the Teutonic knights had showed that teutonisra and Christianity were inseparably connected, This was an illustration of rua words at Koniernberg. The Kaiaer appealed to every creed to unite in brotherly love, all classes to co-operate, in common with labour, whatever therr calling, in order to meet the needs of the State.
In conclusion, be added that the supporters of one party should grasp the hand of their opponents in order to do great things fur the Fatherland. ,■.• •" ■ i- ■■'. ■
