HIS EXCELLENCY.
Lord Islingon, the New Governor of New Zealand, will require to be very careful, or he will find himself actively engaged in the" political turmoil of this country; That he has a distinct bias towards politics was clearly indicated from the very day that he landed in the Dominion, and it would not be surprising to find him, in a.few years time, abandoning his gubernatorial duties for the more exciting and fascinating occupation of party politics. He is reputedly a fluent speaker, a close student of
economic questions, and. a vigorous champion of the cause of the man upon the land. As such he would be a decided acquisition to Parliament, and would be of great assistance in guiding the destinies' of this young country. Sir George Grey, it will be remembered, preferred Parliament House to Government House. Who knows but that history will repeat itself in regard to Lord Islington?
