COMMERCIAL.
• MASTERTON STOCK SALE. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual fortnightly sale at their Masterton yards on Wednesday, when they submitted a fair yarding of sheep and cattle. Bidding for cattle was brisk, but the yarding in sheep comprised mostly of aged ewes in lamb, which dragged a good deal. The . bulk of the ewes were passed in, but were sold privately after the sale. They quote as follows :—Aged ewes in lamb, low condition, 9s to 10s; hoggets, 12s 8d to 14s 9d; fat cows, £6 10s; 2-year empty heifers, £4; 3-vear steers, £5 15s; store cows, £3 to £3 ss; empty forward heifers, £4 12s 6d; 2-year heifers in calf £3 10s to £3 15s; Cows-in calf, £2 15s to £3 Gsi springing cows, £6 10s.
PALMEKSTON STOCK MARKET.
, By Telegraph—Special to Age. PALMEKSTON N„ Last Night. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Palmerston North Sale held to-day as follows:
We had a small yarding of sheep and a heavy yarding of cattle. Sheep were'at good demand and every pen was sold at auction. We quote:— Mixed hoggets, 10s 6d. 10a 7d to lis 3d; ewes with lambs, lis lOd, The yarding of cattle consisted mostly of springing heifers and cows, and some good pens of weanera. There was a keen demand for all classes, and we report a total clearing. with the exception of a few pens, We quote—Fat cows, £4 2s 6d, £5 7s 6d to £6 15s; store cows, £2 6?, £3, £3 10s, £3 15s to £4 2s 6d; springing heifers, £3 7s 6d, £5 2a 6d to £5 103; springing cows, £4 to £7 2s 6d; weaners, 29s to 38s; bulls, £2 to £3 lis 6d; 15 month steers, £2 15s.
